The game of basketball was created by James Naismith. When created in 1891 they used peachbaskets. Well now we have improved some. He is one of the groundbreakers in sports history. A futher note, he invented this game at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The rules Naismith applied go on today, too. Basketball is played in over 150 countries. The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent.People needed a sport to play in the winter.
